Terms &
Conditions.
These terms govern the use of ScriptAccess and the purchase of ScriptAccess evaluation services.
These Terms & Conditions apply when you use the ScriptAccess website or purchase an evaluation service from ScriptAccess.
Please read them before submitting work or making payment. By purchasing an evaluation, you enter into a contract with ScriptAccess on these terms.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or restrict any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
About ScriptAccess
ScriptAccess provides professional, technology-powered evaluation of submitted creative work using dedicated SA-EVAL standards.
ScriptAccess currently accepts eligible work in Film, Television, Microdrama, Stage and Fiction.
ScriptAccess uses advanced AI technology as part of the evaluation process. The technology operates within ScriptAccess's proprietary SA-EVAL criteria, scoring thresholds and methodology for the relevant form.
ScriptAccess is not a literary agency, talent agency, production company, publisher or legal adviser, and an evaluation does not create an agency, representation or fiduciary relationship.
Eligibility to submit
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to purchase an evaluation.
By submitting work, you confirm that you own the work or have the authority and necessary rights to submit it for evaluation.
You must not submit material that you do not have the right to provide to ScriptAccess.
Your work and your rights
You retain copyright and ownership of the work you submit. Purchasing an evaluation does not transfer ownership or copyright in your work to ScriptAccess.
You give ScriptAccess permission to receive, store, access and process the submitted work only to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the services you request, operate the submission system, maintain appropriate service records and comply with legal obligations.
Submission for evaluation does not make your work publicly available. To provide the evaluation, ScriptAccess sends the work to OpenAI through its API and applies its proprietary SA-EVAL methodology. We have not opted in to share API inputs or outputs for OpenAI model training. OpenAI may retain data for service operation and abuse monitoring, as explained in our Privacy Policy.
Evaluation service
ScriptAccess evaluates eligible work against the current version of the dedicated SA-EVAL standard applicable to its form.
An evaluation may include category scores, an overall assessment, analysis of strengths and weaknesses, commercial perspective and prioritised revision recommendations.
Evaluation necessarily involves critical and interpretative judgement. Scores and comments represent an assessment of the work under the applicable SA-EVAL methodology. They are not statements of objective fact or guarantees of how another reader, producer, publisher, agent, buyer, financier or audience will respond.
Market or commercial assessment is separate from the craft score and does not alter the craft score.
Submission requirements
You are responsible for submitting the correct and complete file. The work must be supplied in a format accepted by the submission system.
Standard-length allowances are displayed on the ScriptAccess website. Works exceeding those allowances remain welcome, but an extended-work evaluation must be agreed with ScriptAccess before submission and may carry an additional charge.
ScriptAccess may contact you if a submitted file is unreadable, incomplete, corrupted, incorrectly uploaded or materially different from the type of work purchased.
Prices and payment
The price payable is the price displayed and agreed at the time of purchase, including any applicable taxes that ScriptAccess is required to charge.
Payment must be successfully completed before an evaluation is undertaken unless ScriptAccess has expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
Extended works or services outside the standard evaluation allowance may be quoted separately. Any such price will be agreed before the additional service is purchased.
Turnaround
ScriptAccess normally aims to deliver a completed evaluation within 3 days after receiving both the eligible submission and successful payment.
During particularly busy periods, delivery may take up to 7 days.
If ScriptAccess cannot deliver the purchased evaluation within 7 days, the evaluation fee will be refunded unless you have agreed a different delivery period with ScriptAccess.
A delay caused by an unreadable, incomplete, corrupted or incorrect submission will not begin to run against the delivery period until ScriptAccess has received a usable replacement.
Cancellation rights
If you are purchasing as a consumer, you will normally have a statutory right to cancel a distance service contract within 14 days of the contract being made without giving a reason.
Because ScriptAccess evaluations are intended to be delivered quickly, you may be asked to expressly request that ScriptAccess begins providing the evaluation service before the end of that 14-day cancellation period.
If you make that request and then cancel before the evaluation service has been fully performed, you may be required to pay an amount proportionate to the service already supplied, where permitted by law.
If the service is fully performed within the cancellation period after your express request to begin early and your acknowledgement that the cancellation right will be lost once the service has been fully performed, your statutory right to cancel that completed service may end.
To exercise a cancellation right, email info@scriptaccess.co.uk with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You do not have to use any particular wording.
Refunds and service problems
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights where a service has not been supplied with the standard required by applicable consumer law.
If you believe there is a genuine problem with your evaluation, contact ScriptAccess at info@scriptaccess.co.uk and include your submission reference and a clear description of the issue.
A disagreement with a score, criticism, commercial assessment or creative recommendation does not by itself mean that the service has not been properly provided.
Revised work
A revised work is treated as a new submission and receives its own submission reference and evaluation unless ScriptAccess expressly agrees otherwise.
Where appropriate, ScriptAccess may identify changes between versions while preserving the integrity of the new assessment.
ScriptAccess Select
A raw SA-EVAL score of 8.5 or higher may qualify a work for additional human Select review.
Reaching the qualifying score does not guarantee admission to ScriptAccess Select. Select admission requires additional human confirmation and is deliberately limited.
Participation in Select is optional and requires a separate invitation and writer agreement.
Purchasing an evaluation cannot purchase admission to Select.
No guarantee of commercial outcome
ScriptAccess does not guarantee representation, publication, production, financing, optioning, acquisition, employment, introduction, sale, distribution, investment or any other commercial outcome.
An SA-EVAL score, Select qualification or Select invitation should not be interpreted as a promise that a third party will acquire, represent, produce, publish or finance the work.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the ScriptAccess website, submission system or services, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with the operation of the service, upload malicious software or knowingly provide false or misleading account or submission information.
ScriptAccess may refuse or stop processing material where doing so is reasonably necessary for legal, security or technical reasons, or where the submission falls outside the services offered.
Where a paid evaluation cannot reasonably be provided and the problem is not caused by a breach of these terms by the customer, ScriptAccess will provide an appropriate refund.
Intellectual property
Your submitted work remains yours.
The ScriptAccess name, branding, website content, evaluation layouts, SA-EVAL standards, scoring methodology and other ScriptAccess-created materials are owned by or licensed to ScriptAccess and may be protected by intellectual property law.
Your completed evaluation is supplied for your personal or professional use in connection with your work. You may share your own evaluation, but you must not reproduce or commercially exploit ScriptAccess's underlying proprietary methodology, templates or systems as a competing evaluation service.
Website availability
ScriptAccess aims to keep the website and submission service available, but uninterrupted or error-free access cannot be guaranteed.
ScriptAccess may temporarily suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, technical issues or circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Liability
ScriptAccess does not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
ScriptAccess is not responsible for independent decisions made by third parties after reading, considering or declining your work.
If you use ScriptAccess wholly or mainly for business purposes, additional legal rules may apply to your contract. Nothing in this section affects rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with the ScriptAccess Privacy Policy.
Information about cookies and similar technologies is provided in the ScriptAccess Cookie Policy.
Changes to these terms
ScriptAccess may update these terms as the service develops or where changes are required for legal, regulatory, security or operational reasons.
The terms applying to a purchased evaluation are normally the version made available when that evaluation was purchased, except where a change must apply by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another country, you may also have mandatory rights under the laws that apply to you. Nothing in these terms is intended to remove those rights where they cannot lawfully be excluded.
