Policy.
This policy explains how ScriptAccess collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you use our website or services.
ScriptAccess respects the privacy of writers, industry professionals and other visitors who use our website and services.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we may collect, why we use it, how it may be processed and the rights available to you.
We aim to collect and use only the information reasonably necessary to operate ScriptAccess and provide the services you request.
Who is responsible for your information
ScriptAccess is operated by Kevin Hollands, trading as ScriptAccess. Kevin Hollands is the data controller responsible for determining how personal information collected through the ScriptAccess service is used where applicable.

Information we collect
Depending on how you use ScriptAccess, we may collect information including your name, email address, submission reference, work title, type of work submitted and information you provide when communicating with us.
When you purchase an evaluation, we may receive transaction and payment status information from our payment provider. ScriptAccess does not need to receive your full payment card details in order to provide the evaluation service.
When you submit creative work, we process the file you upload and the information contained in it to provide the requested evaluation.
Our website and hosting systems may also generate technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, security records and service logs.
Creative work you submit
Submitted scripts, manuscripts and other creative work are processed for the purpose of providing the services you request.
Your submission may itself contain information about you or other identifiable people. Please avoid including unnecessary personal information about real people, particularly sensitive information, unless it is genuinely required and you have a lawful basis for including it.
Submitting work for evaluation does not transfer copyright or ownership of that work to ScriptAccess.
Submitted work is not made publicly available as part of the evaluation service.
How we use your information
We may use personal information to:
- receive and manage submissions;
- provide and deliver purchased evaluations;
- process and confirm payments;
- communicate with you about your submission or account;
- provide customer support and respond to enquiries;
- operate and secure the website and submission system;
- prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents;
- maintain appropriate business and transaction records;
- comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations;
- consider qualifying work for additional ScriptAccess Select review where applicable; and
- improve the reliability and operation of the ScriptAccess service.
Our lawful bases
The lawful basis we rely on depends on why the information is being used.
Contract. We process information where necessary to take steps at your request, accept a submission, process an order and provide the evaluation service you purchase.
Legal obligation. We may process information where necessary to comply with legal, accounting, tax, regulatory or other obligations that apply to ScriptAccess.
Legitimate interests. We may process information where reasonably necessary to operate, protect and improve the service, maintain appropriate records, prevent misuse and respond to enquiries, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
Consent. Where consent is the appropriate lawful basis, for example for certain optional marketing communications, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
AI and SA-EVAL processing
ScriptAccess uses advanced AI technology as part of its evaluation process and is transparent about that use.
Submitted creative work may therefore be processed using AI technology in order to analyse the work and assist in producing the evaluation you have requested.
ScriptAccess applies its proprietary SA-EVAL criteria, scoring thresholds and methodology for the form submitted. The underlying AI model is provided by OpenAI.
Submitted work is sent to OpenAI through its API for evaluation. ScriptAccess does not use submissions to train its own AI models. We have not opted in to share API inputs or outputs for OpenAI model training. Under OpenAI's current API data policy, API inputs and outputs are not used to train or improve its models unless an organisation opts in.
Processing is different from training. OpenAI may retain API data for service operation and abuse monitoring. Our current evaluation process uses stored API responses, for which OpenAI states that response data is retained for at least 30 days. ScriptAccess also stores submitted work and evaluation records in its own service infrastructure for the purposes described in this policy.
ScriptAccess does not use evaluation scores to make decisions about an individual that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on that individual.
A qualifying SA-EVAL score may make a work eligible for additional ScriptAccess Select review, but qualification does not itself admit the work to Select. Select admission requires additional human review and a separate invitation.
Service providers
ScriptAccess uses trusted service providers to operate parts of the website and evaluation service.
These may include website hosting and deployment providers, database and secure file-storage providers, payment processors, email and communications providers, security and technical service providers, and AI technology providers used in delivering an evaluation.
Current core technology providers include Vercel for website hosting and deployment, Supabase for database and submission storage infrastructure, and Stripe for payment processing.
Providers may process personal information only to the extent necessary for the relevant service or as otherwise permitted or required by law and their applicable contractual arrangements.
ScriptAccess does not sell your personal information.
Payment information
Payments are processed using a specialist payment provider. Payment information submitted directly to that provider is handled under its own security and privacy arrangements.
ScriptAccess may receive information such as whether payment was successful, transaction references, amounts paid and other information required to connect a payment to the correct submission.
International processing
Some technology and service providers used by ScriptAccess may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.
Where personal information is transferred internationally, ScriptAccess will take reasonable steps to ensure that an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or protection is used where required by UK data protection law.
Depending on the destination and provider, this may include UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual safeguards.
You may contact ScriptAccess if you would like further information about safeguards relevant to your personal information.
How long we keep information
ScriptAccess does not intend to retain personal information indefinitely simply because it has been collected.
We determine retention periods according to the type of information, why it was collected, whether it remains necessary to provide or support the service, the need to maintain appropriate transaction and evaluation records, security requirements, dispute or complaint handling and applicable legal, accounting or tax obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably required for those purposes, it will be deleted, anonymised or otherwise disposed of in accordance with our applicable processes, subject to technical backup cycles and legal requirements.
Security
ScriptAccess takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.
Creative work is submitted through the ScriptAccess submission system rather than being intentionally published as part of the evaluation service.
No internet service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to use services and procedures appropriate to the nature of the information being handled.
ScriptAccess Select
Work achieving the required SA-EVAL threshold may qualify for additional human Select review.
Qualification does not automatically publish, list or disclose the work to industry members.
If work is confirmed at the required standard, participation in ScriptAccess Select requires a separate invitation and writer agreement. Additional privacy information may be provided where necessary for the Select service.
Industry professionals
If you contact ScriptAccess about industry access, we may process your name, professional contact information, organisation, role and information reasonably required to assess or verify your industry status and manage access to relevant services.
That information may be used to communicate with you, verify eligibility, protect writers and submitted material, administer industry access and maintain appropriate access records.
Marketing
ScriptAccess will not treat the purchase of an evaluation as permission to send unrelated electronic marketing where consent or another lawful basis is required.
If you choose to receive optional marketing communications, you can unsubscribe or withdraw consent at any time using the method provided in the communication or by contacting ScriptAccess.
Cookies and website technology
ScriptAccess uses essential storage for site operation and to remember your cookie choices. With your separate permission, we also use Google Analytics to understand website use and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and improve our advertising.
When you allow marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel sends Meta a PageView event when you visit a page. This may include the page address and technical information such as your browser and device details. Meta may use this information in accordance with its own privacy policy. We do not intentionally send your submitted work, payment card details or evaluation results through the Pixel.
Analytics and marketing choices are separate. You can change or withdraw either choice using the Cookies button on the website. Further details are in our Cookie Policy.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, UK data protection law may give you rights concerning your personal information.

Information from other sources
Most personal information used by ScriptAccess is provided directly by you.
We may also receive limited information from service providers, such as payment confirmation from our payment processor, technical or security information generated by our systems, or professional information supplied when verifying industry access.
Information required to provide the service
Certain information, such as a valid email address, submission information and the work to be evaluated, is necessary for ScriptAccess to enter into and perform the evaluation contract.
If required information is not provided, ScriptAccess may be unable to accept the submission, process the order or deliver the evaluation.
Changes to this policy
ScriptAccess may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology, providers or legal obligations change.
The date at the top of this page identifies the current published version.
Where a material change affects how we use personal information, we will take appropriate steps to make the updated information available before beginning materially different processing where required.
